Suddenly, I found myself standing at the entrance to the new Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Chelsea.
It has a great location on the edge of Chelsea and the Meatpacking District. right next to Chelsea Market. The only markers are signs above the two entryways, it’s definitely possible to walk right by. I almost didn’t realize it was there. Presenting, New York City’s Starbucks Reserve Roastery
Opened on Friday, December 14, 2018, the Roastery is a high caliber Starbucks and the fourth of six that the coffee giant has planned around the world. The design itself includes subtle nods to the city, and local artists created works for the shop.

Right in front of the entry is the Main Bar, where you can find many classic drinks. While you might not be able to order your usual Starbucks staple, the options are endless.
This time around, I stayed at the Main Bar and grabbed a cappuccino with Gravitas, a dark roast blend of three rare coffees.

The next time, I plan on going back upstairs. The Arriviamo Bar is a fully stocked liquor bar and calls back to an age of refined speakeasies. I felt like I had gone back in time.
And, I plan on spending time downstairs at the Experience Bar. The downstairs bar is where you can find all of the inventive brews they offer and watch more of the machinery roasting coffee.
Coffee, coffee, coffee.
This was deluxe of all coffee shops. The next time I am in need of a place in the city to sit down and write, I’m going there. If you ever need a recommended spot for a casual coffee date, take them to Starbucks Reserve Roastery.

Of course, the ambiance was amazing. But how was the coffee? Delicious. I’m not a big coffee drinker, but I thoroughly enjoyed my cappuccino. The roast was delicious, there was just the right amount of foam on top, and I even got a beautiful leaf design.
The staff was knowledgeable and attentive. They went into detail regarding the different roasts and were very kind when I almost missed picking up my coffee.
I’m more of an occasional coffee drinker. I don’t even have a regular drink at Starbucks. But, you can bet I’ll be back at the Roastery.
